The thermosetting sliding element SSP 10 is a particular laminated thermosetting material which we have explicitely developped for usage as sliding element in Y25 bogies. Due to its very high compressive strength, its modulus of elasticity and the solid lubricatings particles contained whithin, it is particularly well suited for heavy wagons and tank wagons, as it has been shown in buffing tests carried out by the German railway companies DR and DB AG. Hi-from SSP 10 has been in use since 1987. A clearance for the company DB AG has been already issued.
